Pump.fun creator follows are follows on the public profile of the wallet that launched a token. Visitors often click through to that profile, and the follower count is one of the first numbers they see there. In the PumpCrest console, follows are an optional add-on: 10% to 100% of session wallets follow the creator, and the fee rises by 40% x density, so a 5 SOL fee becomes 6 SOL at 50%.
Before you move the slider
- A follow attaches to the creator profile, not to the token, so it only helps you if the launching wallet is yours.
- The surcharge is 40% x density on top of the flat 1% fee, and it is the only paid add-on in the console.
- Each follow costs about 0.004 x your average order size, so wide sessions built from small orders get the cheapest follows.
- Keeping density at or below 60% keeps followers under the estimated holder count of roughly 62% of wallets.
What does following a creator on Pump.fun mean?
Every token on Pump.fun is created by a wallet, and that wallet has a public profile. The profile lists the tokens it has launched and shows how many accounts follow it. Following is a light social action: it says you want to keep an eye on what that creator does next, much like following an account on any social app.
Two details matter for a launch team. The follow belongs to the person, not the coin, so if the same wallet launches again, its followers carry over. And the count is public to anyone who opens the profile.
Why do visitors look at a creator follower count?
A token page answers what the coin is. The creator profile answers who is behind it, and that is the question a careful buyer asks next. The follower count gives them a quick, rough read on whether other people found this creator worth tracking.
It is context rather than proof. Still, a profile with a handful of followers and one with a few hundred read differently at a glance, the same way a thin comment thread reads differently from an active one. Our breakdown of signals on the Pump.fun board covers the other surface numbers. A quick pass over a creator profile tends to cover the same ground:
- How many tokens the wallet has launched before, and how recently.
- The follower count, set against the activity on the current token.
- Whether earlier launches still have holders and trades, or went quiet.
- Whether the profile points to the same socials as the token page.
How does the creator-follows add-on work?
Creator follows sit in step 2 of the console, next to comments and favorites. You pick a density between 10% and 100%, and that share of the session wallets follows the profile of the wallet that created the mint you pasted. Wallets are fresh for every run, so each follow comes from a distinct session wallet. The neighboring controls are all explained in our guide to every setting in the console.
PumpCrest treats follows as its only paid add-on. Comments and favorites are already covered by the flat 1% fee on target volume. Follows add a surcharge of 40% x density on top of that fee, so the amount on the payment screen moves the moment you touch the slider.
Worked example on a 500 SOL target
Take the Quiet tape preset: 2,500 wallets with a 0.10 to 0.30 SOL band. The average order is 0.20 SOL, so the target volume is 2,500 x 0.20 = 500 SOL and the base fee is 5 SOL. Here is what the slider does to that fee.
| Follow density | Wallets that follow | Surcharge | Total fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10% | 250 | +4% (0.2 SOL) | 5.2 SOL |
| 25% | 625 | +10% (0.5 SOL) | 5.5 SOL |
| 50% | 1,250 | +20% (1 SOL) | 6 SOL |
| 75% | 1,875 | +30% (1.5 SOL) | 6.5 SOL |
| 100% | 2,500 | +40% (2 SOL) | 7 SOL |
What does a single follow cost?
Because the surcharge is a share of the fee, and the fee is a share of volume, the price of one follow is set by your average order size, not by how many wallets you run. The shortcut: each follow costs about 0.004 x the average order. Check it against the table. At 50% density the Quiet tape session pays 1 SOL for 1,250 follows, which is 0.0008 SOL each, and 0.004 x 0.20 gives the same 0.0008.
Now run the same density on Big prints: 1,250 wallets, 0.40 to 1.20 SOL, an average of 0.80 SOL, so a 1,000 SOL target and a 10 SOL base fee. At 50% you add 2 SOL for 625 follows, or 0.0032 SOL each. That is four times the Quiet tape price per follow, for half as many follows. The same flat-percent logic is compared with other pricing styles in how volume bot pricing models differ.
When is it worth adding follows?
Follows earn their surcharge when the profile they point at will still matter after this session ends. A few situations where that tends to be true:
- You launched the token yourself and plan to launch again from the same wallet, so the follower base carries forward.
- Your socials link straight to the creator profile, which means visitors land on that page before they reach the chart.
- The token is fresh and still on its bonding curve, the stage when visitors are most likely to ask who made it.
- You are running a long, wide session, such as several thousand wallets with small orders, where each follow is cheapest.
When should you leave follows off?
The clearest case: you are not the creator. The console accepts any public Pump.fun mint, so you can run a session on a token someone else launched, but the follows would then build that other person's profile. Volume, comments and favorites stay with the token; follows do not.
Skip them too when the budget is tight. Back in the 500 SOL example, the 7 SOL you would pay with follows at 100% is exactly the base fee of a 700 SOL session with none. If volume, transactions and holders are the goal, those extra 2 SOL usually do more as 200 SOL of added target volume. Short 15-minute runs are a weak fit as well.
How do you pick a sensible density?
A useful anchor is the estimated holder count. The console estimates unique holders at about 62% of wallets, so a 2,500-wallet session points to roughly 1,550 holders. Followers above that number mean the profile has more fans than the token has holders, which can look odd to anyone comparing the two. Keeping density at 60% or below keeps followers under the estimate.
- Load the mint and confirm the name, ticker and image match the token you launched.
- Shape the session first: wallets, order band, length and buy share.
- Read the estimated holder count, then set follow density at or below 60%.
- Check the new fee and compare it with what the same SOL would buy as extra target volume.
- Copy the shareable config link if a teammate needs to sign off before anyone pays.
The session console recalculates the fee live as you drag, and nothing is charged until you send the transfer yourself. With PumpCrest, that transfer is the only action your own wallet ever takes.
Questions and answers
Do follows go to the token or to the person who launched it?
They go to the creator profile, which is the public profile of the wallet that created the mint. The token itself has no followers. That is why the add-on only makes sense when the launching wallet belongs to you or your team. If you paste someone else's mint, the session still runs normally, but any follows you pay for land on their profile instead of yours.
Can I add follows after a session has started?
Changes to a running session go through support by email at support@pumpcrest.com; the console does not edit a live order. Orders that already settled stay on-chain, and the fee is not refundable once a session starts, so the practical move is to settle on a follow density before you pay. The shareable config link makes it easy to review the setup with your team first.
Are comments and favorites charged the same way as follows?
No. Auto-comments, at 5% to 90% of orders, and auto-favorites, at 10% to 100% of wallets, are both covered by the flat 1% fee with no surcharge. Follows are the one exception. That makes favorites a no-cost first step if you want more visible engagement on the token page itself, and follows a deliberate extra aimed at the creator profile.
Will a higher follower count move my token up the board?
Nobody can promise that, and we do not. Pump.fun does not publish a formula for how its board orders tokens, and a follower count is only one thing a visitor might glance at. What a session does provide is measurable: the volume, transactions, holders, comments and favorites that actually settle. Treat follows as profile context for people who click through, not as a ranking input.
How do I work out the fee for a density that is not in the table?
Multiply the density by 40% to get the surcharge, then apply it to the base fee. For the Slow build preset, 1,200 wallets at a 0.25 SOL average make a 300 SOL target and a 3 SOL base fee. At 30% density the surcharge is 12%, or 0.36 SOL, so the total is 3.36 SOL. The console does this math for you as you drag the slider.
Do I need to log in or connect a wallet for the follows to happen?
No. The follows come from session wallets created fresh for each run. You never connect your own wallet, sign in to Pump.fun through the console or share a key. Your only action is one fee transfer from a wallet you control, at the exact amount shown, surcharge included.
